Cryptocurrency payment is constantly in demand
Yandex.Money and the Department of Information Technology (DIT) of the city of Moscow interviewed 1,000 residents of the capital of Russia of different ages. The goal was to find out how many Muscovites use cashless payments. The results are the following:
- 34% try to use the bank transfer as the main type of payment
- 63% of them do it at least once a day.
- 1% of people use cryptocurrencies as a type of cashless settlement
- 5% would like to be able to pay in cryptocurrency
As for methods of cashless payment, here the positions are as follows:
- 96% of respondents use bank cards.
- 40% choose mobile banking
- 32% of respondents use Internet banking services
- Electronic money – 16%
Muscovites also point out that the emergence of Apple Pay and Google Play technologies, which allow you to pay using the phone, has had a positive impact on the frequency of cashless payments in their lives.
Problems with the implementation of payment in cryptocurrency
There is another side to the coin. Some respondents stated that they refused to use a bank transfer. 40% of respondents consider this type of payment dangerous and are afraid of fraudsters, and 22% do not like high commissions.
It also turned out that 11% of respondents do not know how to use such services, and 9% have not heard of them. According to the director of Yandex.Money, Ivan Glazachev, some time must pass before people stop seeing non-cash payments as something dangerous. Then this type of payment will penetrate the lives of a larger number of citizens.
Despite the fact that the payment of cryptocurrency among Muscovites is already used and there is a request in this type of calculation, experts are skeptical about this. They note that residents of the capital do not fully understand what a cryptocurrency is. In addition, digital money in Russia has not yet been legalized, and the draft law regulating the use of cryptocurrencies in the country is still being considered by the State Duma.
